The LORD Provides Manna | ||||
| 1 They took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came to the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. | E UISOU MEILM UIBEU KL-ODTh BNI-IShREL EL-MDBR-SIN EShR BIN-EILM UBIN SINI BChMShA OShR IUM LChDSh AShNI LTsEThM MERTs MTsRIM | א ויסעו מאילם ויבאו כל-עדת בני-ישראל אל-מדבר-סין אשר בין-אילם ובין סיני בחמשה עשר יום לחדש השני לצאתם מארץ מצרים | ||
| 2 The whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness; | B UILINU (UILUNU) KL-ODTh BNI-IShREL OL-MShA UOL-EARN BMDBR | ב וילינו (וילונו) כל-עדת בני-ישראל על-משה ועל-אהרן במדבר | ||

| 4 Then said IAUA to Moses: 'Behold, I will cause to rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in My law, or not. | D UIEMR IAUA EL-MShA ANNI MMTIR LKM LChM MN-AShMIM UITsE AOM ULQTU DBR-IUM BIUMU LMON ENSNU AILK BThURThI EM-LE | ד ויאמר יהוה אל-משה הנני ממטיר לכם לחם מן-השמים ויצא העם ולקטו דבר-יום ביומו למען אנסנו הילך בתורתי אם-לא | ||
| 5 It shall come to pass on the sixth day that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.' | A UAIA BIUM AShShI UAKINU ETh EShR-IBIEU UAIA MShNA OL EShR-ILQTU IUM IUM | ה והיה ביום הששי והכינו את אשר-יביאו והיה משנה על אשר-ילקטו יום יום | ||
| 6 Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel: 'At even, then you shall know that IAUA has brought you out from the land of Egypt; | U UIEMR MShA UEARN EL-KL-BNI IShREL ORB UIDOThM KI IAUA AUTsIE EThKM MERTs MTsRIM | ו ויאמר משה ואהרן אל-כל-בני ישראל ערב וידעתם כי יהוה הוציא אתכם מארץ מצרים | ||
| 7 and in the morning, then you shall see the glory of IAUA; for that He has heard your murmurings against IAUA; and what are we, that you murmur against us?' | Z UBQR UREIThM ETh-KBUD IAUA BShMOU ETh-ThLNThIKM OL-IAUA UNChNU MA KI ThLUNU (ThLINU) OLINU | ז ובקר וראיתם את-כבוד יהוה בשמעו את-תלנתיכם על-יהוה ונחנו מה כי תלונו (תלינו) עלינו | ||
| 8 Moses said: 'This shall be, when IAUA shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that IAUA hears your murmurings which you murmur against Him; and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against IAUA.' | Ch UIEMR MShA BThTh IAUA LKM BORB BShR LEKL ULChM BBQR LShBO BShMO IAUA ETh-ThLNThIKM EShR-EThM MLINM OLIU UNChNU MA LE-OLINU ThLNThIKM KI OL-IAUA | ח ויאמר משה בתת יהוה לכם בערב בשר לאכל ולחם בבקר לשבע בשמע יהוה את-תלנתיכם אשר-אתם מלינם עליו ונחנו מה לא-עלינו תלנתיכם כי על-יהוה | ||
| 9 Moses said to Aaron: 'Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel: Come near before IAUA; for He has heard your murmurings.' | T UIEMR MShA EL-EARN EMR EL-KL-ODTh BNI IShREL QRBU LFNI IAUA KI ShMO ETh ThLNThIKM | ט ויאמר משה אל-אהרן אמר אל-כל-עדת בני ישראל קרבו לפני יהוה כי שמע את תלנתיכם | ||
| 10 It came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of IAUA appeared in the cloud. | I UIAI KDBR EARN EL-KL-ODTh BNI-IShREL UIFNU EL-AMDBR UANA KBUD IAUA NREA BONN | י ויהי כדבר אהרן אל-כל-עדת בני-ישראל ויפנו אל-המדבר והנה כבוד יהוה נראה בענן | ||
| 11 IAUA spoke to Moses, saying: | IE UIDBR IAUA EL-MShA LEMR | יא וידבר יהוה אל-משה לאמר | ||
| 12 'I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying: At dusk you shall eat flesh, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am IAUA your God.' | IB ShMOThI ETh-ThLUNTh BNI IShREL DBR ELAM LEMR BIN AORBIM ThEKLU BShR UBBQR ThShBOU-LChM UIDOThM KI ENI IAUA ELAIKM | יב שמעתי את-תלונת בני ישראל דבר אלהם לאמר בין הערבים תאכלו בשר ובבקר תשבעו-לחם וידעתם כי אני יהוה אלהיכם | ||
| 13 It came to pass at even, that the quails came up, and covered the camp; and in the morning there was a layer of dew round about the camp. | IG UIAI BORB UThOL AShLU UThKS ETh-AMChNA UBBQR AIThA ShKBTh ATL SBIB LMChNA | יג ויהי בערב ותעל השלו ותכס את-המחנה ובבקר היתה שכבת הטל סביב למחנה | ||
| 14 When the layer of dew was gone up, behold on the face of the wilderness a fine, scale-like thing, fine as the hoar-frost on the ground. | ID UThOL ShKBTh ATL UANA OL-FNI AMDBR DQ MChSFS DQ KKFR OL-AERTs | יד ותעל שכבת הטל והנה על-פני המדבר דק מחספס דק ככפר על-הארץ | ||
| 15 When the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another: 'What is it?'--for they knew not what it was. | 17 The children of Israel did so, and gathered some more, some less. | IZ UIOShU-KN BNI IShREL UILQTU AMRBA UAMMOIT | יז ויעשו-כן בני ישראל וילקטו המרבה והממעיט | ||
| 18 When they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. | ICh UIMDU BOMR ULE AODIF AMRBA UAMMOIT LE AChSIR EISh LFI-EKLU LQTU | יח וימדו בעמר ולא העדיף המרבה והממעיט לא החסיר איש לפי-אכלו לקטו | ||
| 19 Moses said to them: 'Let no man leave of it till the morning.' | IT UIEMR MShA ELAM EISh EL-IUThR MMNU OD-BQR | יט ויאמר משה אלהם איש אל-יותר ממנו עד-בקר | ||
| 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not to Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and rotted; and Moses was wroth with them. | K ULE-ShMOU EL-MShA UIUThRU ENShIM MMNU OD-BQR UIRM ThULOIM UIBESh UIQTsF OLAM MShA | כ ולא-שמעו אל-משה ויותרו אנשים ממנו עד-בקר וירם תולעים ויבאש ויקצף עלהם משה | ||
| 21 They gathered it morning by morning, every man according to his eating; and as the sun waxed hot, it melted. | KE UILQTU EThU BBQR BBQR EISh KFI EKLU UChM AShMSh UNMS | כא וילקטו אתו בבקר בבקר איש כפי אכלו וחם השמש ונמס | ||
| 22 It came to pass that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one; and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. | KB UIAI BIUM AShShI LQTU LChM MShNA ShNI AOMR LEChD UIBEU KL-NShIEI AODA UIGIDU LMShA | כב ויהי ביום הששי לקטו לחם משנה שני העמר לאחד ויבאו כל-נשיאי העדה ויגידו למשה | ||
| 23 He said to them: 'This is that which IAUA has spoken: To-morrow is a solemn rest, a holy Sabbath to IAUA. | 24 They laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade; and it did not rot, neither was there any worm therein. | KD UINIChU EThU OD-ABQR KEShR TsUA MShA ULE ABEISh URMA LE-AIThA BU | כד ויניחו אתו עד-הבקר כאשר צוה משה ולא הבאיש ורמה לא-היתה בו | ||
| 25 Moses said: 'Eat that to-day; for to-day is a Sabbath to IAUA; to-day you shall not find it in the field. | KA UIEMR MShA EKLAU AIUM KI-ShBTh AIUM LIAUA AIUM LE ThMTsEAU BShDA | כה ויאמר משה אכלהו היום כי-שבת היום ליהוה היום לא תמצאהו בשדה | ||
| 26 Six days you shall gather it; but on the seventh day is the Sabbath, in it there shall be none.' | KU ShShTh IMIM ThLQTAU UBIUM AShBIOI ShBTh LE IAIA-BU | כו ששת ימים תלקטהו וביום השביעי שבת לא יהיה-בו | ||
| 27 It came to pass on the seventh day, that there went out some of the people to gather, and they found none. | KZ UIAI BIUM AShBIOI ITsEU MN-AOM LLQT ULE MTsEU | כז ויהי ביום השביעי יצאו מן-העם ללקט ולא מצאו | ||
| 28 IAUA said to Moses: 'How long refuse you to keep My commandments and My laws? | KCh UIEMR IAUA EL-MShA OD-ENA MENThM LShMR MTsUThI UThURThI | כח ויאמר יהוה אל-משה עד-אנה מאנתם לשמר מצותי ותורתי | ||
| 29 See that IAUA has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide you every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.' | KT REU KI-IAUA NThN LKM AShBTh OL-KN AUE NThN LKM BIUM AShShI LChM IUMIM ShBU EISh ThChThIU EL-ITsE EISh MMQMU BIUM AShBIOI | כט ראו כי-יהוה נתן לכם השבת על-כן הוא נתן לכם ביום הששי לחם יומים שבו איש תחתיו אל-יצא איש ממקמו ביום השביעי | ||

| 31 The house of Israel called the name thereof Manna; and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. | LE UIQREU BITh-IShREL ETh-ShMU MN UAUE KZRO GD LBN UTOMU KTsFIChTh BDBSh | לא ויקראו בית-ישראל את-שמו מן והוא כזרע גד לבן וטעמו כצפיחת בדבש | ||

| 34 As IAUA commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. | LD KEShR TsUA IAUA EL-MShA UINIChAU EARN LFNI AODTh LMShMRTh | לד כאשר צוה יהוה אל-משה ויניחהו אהרן לפני העדת למשמרת | ||
