Consecration of the Firstborn

2 'Sanctify to Me all the first-born, whatsoever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast, it is Mine.' B QDSh-LI KL-BKUR FTR KL-RChM BBNI IShREL BEDM UBBAMA LI AUE ב קדש-לי כל-בכור פטר כל-רחם בבני ישראל באדם ובבהמה לי הוא
3 Moses said to the people: 'Remember this day, in which you came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand IAUA brought you out from this place; there shall no leavened bread be eaten. 5 It shall be when IAUA shall bring you into the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month. 6 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and in the seventh day shall be a feast to IAUA. U ShBOTh IMIM ThEKL MTsTh UBIUM AShBIOI ChG LIAUA ו שבעת ימים תאכל מצת וביום השביעי חג ליהוה
7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with you, neither shall there be leaven seen with you, in all your borders. 9 It shall be for a sign to you on your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, that the law of IAUA may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand has IAUA brought you out of Egypt. 10 You shall therefore keep this ordinance on itsd Holy Day from year to year. I UShMRTh ETh-AChQA AZETh LMUODA MIMIM IMIMA י ושמרת את-החקה הזאת למועדה מימים ימימה
11 It shall be when IAUA shall bring you into the land of the Canaanite, as He swore to you and to your fathers, and shall give it you, IE UAIA KI-IBEK IAUA EL-ERTs AKNONI KEShR NShBO LK ULEBThIK UNThNA LK יא והיה כי-יבאך יהוה אל-ארץ הכנעני כאשר נשבע לך ולאבתיך ונתנה לך
12 that you shall set apart to IAUA all that opens the womb; every firstling that is a male, which you have coming of a beast, shall be IAUA'S. IB UAOBRTh KL-FTR-RChM LIAUA UKL-FTR ShGR BAMA EShR IAIA LK AZKRIM LIAUA יב והעברת כל-פטר-רחם ליהוה וכל-פטר שגר בהמה אשר יהיה לך הזכרים ליהוה
13 Every firstling of an ass you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck; and all the first-born of man among your sons shall you redeem. 14 It shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying: What is this? that you shall say to him: By strength of hand IAUA brought us out from Egypt, from the house of bondage; ID UAIA KI-IShELK BNK MChR LEMR MA-ZETh UEMRTh ELIU BChZQ ID AUTsIENU IAUA MMTsRIM MBITh OBDIM יד והיה כי-ישאלך בנך מחר לאמר מה-זאת ואמרת אליו בחזק יד הוציאנו יהוה ממצרים מבית עבדים
15 and it came to pass, when Pharaoh would hardly let us go that IAUA slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the first-born of man, and the first-born of beast; therefore I sacrifice to IAUA all that opens the womb, being males; but all the first-born of my sons I redeem. 17 It came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not by the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said: 'Unless peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt.' 18 But God led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by the Red Sea; and the children of Israel went up armed out of the land of Egypt. ICh UISB ELAIM ETh-AOM DRK AMDBR IM-SUF UChMShIM OLU BNI-IShREL MERTs MTsRIM יח ויסב אלהים את-העם דרך המדבר ים-סוף וחמשים עלו בני-ישראל מארץ מצרים
19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him; for he had directly sworn the children of Israel, saying: 'God will surely remember you; and you shall carry up my bones away hence with you.' IT UIQCh MShA ETh-OTsMUTh IUSF OMU KI AShBO AShBIO ETh-BNI IShREL LEMR FQD IFQD ELAIM EThKM UAOLIThM ETh-OTsMThI MZA EThKM יט ויקח משה את-עצמות יוסף עמו כי השבע השביע את-בני ישראל לאמר פקד יפקד אלהים אתכם והעליתם את-עצמתי מזה אתכם
20 They took their journey from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, in the edge of the wilderness. K UISOU MSKTh UIChNU BEThM BQTsA AMDBR כ ויסעו מסכת ויחנו באתם בקצה המדבר
21 IAUA went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; that they might go by day and by night: KE UIAUA ALK LFNIAM IUMM BOMUD ONN LNChThM ADRK ULILA BOMUD ESh LAEIR LAM LLKTh IUMM ULILA כא ויהוה הלך לפניהם יומם בעמוד ענן לנחתם הדרך ולילה בעמוד אש להאיר להם ללכת יומם ולילה

Consecration of the Firstborn

7 Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with you, neither shall there be leaven seen with you, in all your borders.
