Bildad Says God Rewards the Good | ||||
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said: | E UION BLDD AShUChI UIEMR | א ויען בלדד השוחי ויאמר | ||
2 How long will you speak these things, seeing that the words of your mouth are as a mighty wind? | B OD-EN ThMLL-ELA URUCh KBIR EMRI-FIK | ב עד-אן תמלל-אלה ורוח כביר אמרי-פיך | ||
3 Does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice? | G AEL IOUTh MShFT UEM-ShDI IOUTh-TsDQ | ג האל יעות משפט ואם-שדי יעות-צדק | ||
4 If your children sinned against Him, He delivered them into the hand of their transgression. | D EM-BNIK ChTEU-LU UIShLChM BID-FShOM | ד אם-בניך חטאו-לו וישלחם ביד-פשעם | ||
5 If you would seek earnestly to God, and make your supplication to the Almighty; | A EM-EThA ThShChR EL-EL UEL-ShDI ThThChNN | ה אם-אתה תשחר אל-אל ואל-שדי תתחנן | ||
6 If you wert pure and upright; surely now He would awake for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous. | U EM-ZK UIShR EThA KI-OThA IOIR OLIK UShLM NUTh TsDQK | ו אם-זך וישר אתה כי-עתה יעיר עליך ושלם נות צדקך | ||
7 Though your beginning was small, yet your end should greatly increase. | Z UAIA REShIThK MTsOR UEChRIThK IShGA MED | ז והיה ראשיתך מצער ואחריתך ישגה מאד | ||
8 For inquire, I pray you, of the former generation, and apply yourself to that which their fathers have searched out-- | Ch KI-ShEL-NE LDR RIShUN UKUNN LChQR EBUThM | ח כי-שאל-נא לדר רישון וכונן לחקר אבותם | ||
9 For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow-- | T KI-ThMUL ENChNU ULE NDO KI TsL IMINU OLI-ERTs | ט כי-תמול אנחנו ולא נדע כי צל ימינו עלי-ארץ | ||
10 Shall not they teach you, and tell you, and utter words out of their heart? | I ALE-AM IURUK IEMRU LK UMLBM IUTsEU MLIM | י הלא-הם יורוך יאמרו לך ומלבם יוצאו מלים | ||
11 Can the rush shoot up without mire? Can the reed-grass grow without water? | IE AIGEA-GME BLE BTsA IShGA-EChU BLI-MIM | יא היגאה-גמא בלא בצה ישגה-אחו בלי-מים | ||
12 Whilst it is yet in its greenness, and not cut down, it withers before any other herb. | IB ODNU BEBU LE IQTF ULFNI KL-ChTsIR IIBSh | יב עדנו באבו לא יקטף ולפני כל-חציר ייבש | ||
13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hope of the godless man shall perish; | IG KN ERChUTh KL-ShKChI EL UThQUTh ChNF ThEBD | יג כן ארחות כל-שכחי אל ותקות חנף תאבד | ||
14 Whose confidence is gossamer, and whose trust is a spider's web. | ID EShR-IQUT KSLU UBITh OKBISh MBTChU | יד אשר-יקוט כסלו ובית עכביש מבטחו | ||
15 He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold fast thereby, but it shall not endure. | TU IShON OL-BIThU ULE IOMD IChZIQ BU ULE IQUM | טו ישען על-ביתו ולא יעמד יחזיק בו ולא יקום | ||
16 He is green before the sun, and his shoots go forth over his garden. | TZ RTB AUE LFNI-ShMSh UOL GNThU INQThU ThTsE | טז רטב הוא לפני-שמש ועל גנתו ינקתו תצא | ||
17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, he beholds the place of stones. | IZ OL-GL ShRShIU ISBKU BITh EBNIM IChZA | יז על-גל שרשיו יסבכו בית אבנים יחזה | ||
18 If he be destroyed from his place, then it shall deny him: 'I have not seen you.' | ICh EM-IBLONU MMQMU UKChSh BU LE REIThIK | יח אם-יבלענו ממקמו וכחש בו לא ראיתיך | ||
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the earth shall others spring. | IT AN-AUE MShUSh DRKU UMOFR EChR ITsMChU | יט הן-הוא משוש דרכו ומעפר אחר יצמחו | ||
20 Behold, God will not cast away an innocent man, neither will He uphold the evil-doers; | K AN-EL LE IMES-ThM ULE-IChZIQ BID-MROIM | כ הן-אל לא ימאס-תם ולא-יחזיק ביד-מרעים | ||
21 Till He fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting. | KE OD-IMLA ShChUQ FIK UShFThIK ThRUOA | כא עד-ימלה שחוק פיך ושפתיך תרועה | ||
22 They that hate you shall be clothed with shame; and the tent of the wicked shall be no more. | KB ShNEIK ILBShU-BShTh UEAL RShOIM EINNU | כב שנאיך ילבשו-בשת ואהל רשעים איננו |
