| 17 In the night my bones are pierced, and fall from me, and my sinews take no rest. | IZ LILA OTsMI NQR MOLI UORQI LE IShKBUN | יז לילה עצמי נקר מעלי וערקי לא ישכבון | ||
| 18 By the great force [of my disease] is my garment disfigured; it binds me about as the collar of my coat. | ICh BRB-KCh IThChFSh LBUShI KFI KThNThI IEZRNI | יח ברב-כח יתחפש לבושי כפי כתנתי יאזרני | ||
| 19 He has cast me into the mire, and I am become like dust and ashes. | IT ARNI LChMR UEThMShL KOFR UEFR | יט הרני לחמר ואתמשל כעפר ואפר | ||

| 21 You are turned to be cruel to me; with the might of Your hand You hate me. | KE ThAFK LEKZR LI BOTsM IDK ThShTMNI | כא תהפך לאכזר לי בעצם ידך תשטמני | ||
| 22 You lift me up to the wind, You cause me to ride on it; and You dissolve my substance. | KB ThShENI EL-RUCh ThRKIBNI UThMGGNI ThShUA (ThShIA) | כב תשאני אל-רוח תרכיבני ותמגגני תשוה (תשיה) | ||
| 23 For I know that You will bring me to death, and to the house appointed for all living. | KG KI-IDOThI MUTh ThShIBNI UBITh MUOD LKL-ChI | כג כי-ידעתי מות תשיבני ובית מועד לכל-חי | ||
| 24 Surely none shall put forth his hand to a ruinous heap, neither because of these things shall help come in one's calamity, | KD EK LE-BOI IShLCh-ID EM-BFIDU LAN ShUO | כד אך לא-בעי ישלח-יד אם-בפידו להן שוע | ||
| 25 If I have not wept for him that was in trouble, and if my soul grieved not for the needy. | KA EM-LE BKIThI LQShA-IUM OGMA NFShI LEBIUN | כה אם-לא בכיתי לקשה-יום עגמה נפשי לאביון | ||
| 26 Yet, when I looked for good, there came evil; and when I waited for light, there came darkness. | KU KI TUB QUIThI UIBE RO UEIChLA LEUR UIBE EFL | כו כי טוב קויתי ויבא רע ואיחלה לאור ויבא אפל | ||
