| 4 His children are far from safety, and are crushed in the gate, with none to deliver them. | D IRChQU BNIU MIShO UIDKEU BShOR UEIN MTsIL | ד ירחקו בניו מישע וידכאו בשער ואין מציל | ||
| 5 Whose harvest the hungry eats up, and takes it even out of the thorns, and the snare gapes for their substance. | A EShR QTsIRU ROB IEKL UEL-MTsNIM IQChAU UShEF TsMIM ChILM | ה אשר קצירו רעב יאכל ואל-מצנים יקחהו ושאף צמים חילם | ||
| 6 For affliction comes not forth from the dust, neither does trouble spring out of the ground; | U KI LE-ITsE MOFR EUN UMEDMA LE-ITsMCh OML | ו כי לא-יצא מעפר און ומאדמה לא-יצמח עמל | ||
| 7 But man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upward. | Z KI-EDM LOML IULD UBNI-RShF IGBIAU OUF | ז כי-אדם לעמל יולד ובני-רשף יגביהו עוף | ||
| 8 But as for me, I would seek to God, and to God would I commit my cause; | Ch EULM ENI EDRSh EL-EL UEL-ELAIM EShIM DBRThI | ח אולם אני אדרש אל-אל ואל-אלהים אשים דברתי | ||
| 9 Who does great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number; | T OShA GDLUTh UEIN ChQR NFLEUTh OD-EIN MSFR | ט עשה גדלות ואין חקר נפלאות עד-אין מספר | ||
| 10 Who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields; | I ANThN MTR OL-FNI-ERTs UShLCh MIM OL-FNI ChUTsUTh | י הנתן מטר על-פני-ארץ ושלח מים על-פני חוצות | ||
| 11 So that He sets up on high those that are low, and those that mourn are exalted to safety. | IE LShUM ShFLIM LMRUM UQDRIM ShGBU IShO | יא לשום שפלים למרום וקדרים שגבו ישע | ||
| 12 He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands can perform nothing substantial. | IB MFR MChShBUTh ORUMIM ULE-ThOShNA IDIAM ThShIA | יב מפר מחשבות ערומים ולא-תעשנה ידיהם תשיה | ||
| 13 He takes the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong. | IG LKD ChKMIM BORMM UOTsTh NFThLIM NMARA | יג לכד חכמים בערמם ועצת נפתלים נמהרה | ||
| 14 They meet with darkness in the day-time, and grope at noonday as in the night. | ID IUMM IFGShU-ChShK UKLILA IMShShU BTsARIM | יד יומם יפגשו-חשך וכלילה ימששו בצהרים | ||
| 15 But He saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty. | TU UIShO MChRB MFIAM UMID ChZQ EBIUN | טו וישע מחרב מפיהם ומיד חזק אביון | ||
| 16 So the poor has hope, and iniquity stops her mouth. | TZ UThAI LDL ThQUA UOLThA QFTsA FIA | טז ותהי לדל תקוה ועלתה קפצה פיה | ||
| 17 Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; therefore despise not you the chastening of the Almighty. | IZ ANA EShRI ENUSh IUKChNU ELUA UMUSR ShDI EL-ThMES | יז הנה אשרי אנוש יוכחנו אלוה ומוסר שדי אל-תמאס | ||
| 18 For He makes sore, and binds up; He wounds, and His hands make whole. | ICh KI AUE IKEIB UIChBSh IMChTs UIDU ThRFINA | יח כי הוא יכאיב ויחבש ימחץ וידו תרפינה | ||
| 19 He will deliver you in six troubles; yes, in seven there shall no evil touch you. | IT BShSh TsRUTh ITsILK UBShBO LE-IGO BK RO | יט בשש צרות יצילך ובשבע לא-יגע בך רע | ||
| 20 In famine He will redeem you from death; and in war from the power of the sword. | K BROB FDK MMUTh UBMLChMA MIDI ChRB | כ ברעב פדך ממות ובמלחמה מידי חרב | ||
| 21 You shall be hid from the scourge of the tongue; neither shall you be afraid of destruction when it comes. | KE BShUT LShUN ThChBE ULE-ThIRE MShD KI IBUE | כא בשוט לשון תחבא ולא-תירא משד כי יבוא | ||
| 22 At destruction and famine you shall laugh; neither shall you be afraid of the beasts of the earth. | KB LShD ULKFN ThShChQ UMChITh AERTs EL-ThIRE | כב לשד ולכפן תשחק ומחית הארץ אל-תירא | ||
| 23 For you shall be in league with the stones of the field; and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with you. | KG KI OM-EBNI AShDA BRIThK UChITh AShDA AShLMA-LK | כג כי עם-אבני השדה בריתך וחית השדה השלמה-לך | ||
| 24 You shall know that your tent is in peace; and you shall visit your habitation, and shall miss nothing. | KD UIDOTh KI-ShLUM EALK UFQDTh NUK ULE ThChTE | כד וידעת כי-שלום אהלך ופקדת נוך ולא תחטא | ||
| 25 You shall know also that your seed shall be great, and your offspring as the grass of the earth. | KA UIDOTh KI-RB ZROK UTsETsEIK KOShB AERTs | כה וידעת כי-רב זרעך וצאצאיך כעשב הארץ | ||
| 26 You shall come to your grave in a ripe age, like as a shock of corn comes in in its season. | KU ThBUE BKLCh ELI-QBR KOLUTh GDISh BOThU | כו תבוא בכלח אלי-קבר כעלות גדיש בעתו | ||
| 27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know you it for your good. | KZ ANA-ZETh ChQRNUA KN-AIE ShMONA UEThA DO-LK | כז הנה-זאת חקרנוה כן-היא שמענה ואתה דע-לך | ||
