Judgment on Judah and Israel
1 Thus says IAUA: For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four, I will not reverse it: because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime. 3 I will cut off the judge from the middle thereof, and will slay all the princes thereof with him, says IAUA. G UAKRThI ShUFT MQRBA UKL-ShRIA EARUG OMU EMR IAUA ג והכרתי שופט מקרבה וכל-שריה אהרוג עמו אמר יהוה
4 Thus says IAUA: For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four, I will not reverse it: because they have rejected the law of IAUA, and have not kept His statutes, and their lies have caused them to err, after which their fathers did walk. 5 So will I send a fire on Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem. A UShLChThI ESh BIAUDA UEKLA ERMNUTh IRUShLM ה ושלחתי אש ביהודה ואכלה ארמנות ירושלם
6 Thus says IAUA: For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four, I will not reverse it: because they sell the righteous for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; U KA EMR IAUA OL-ShLShA FShOI IShREL UOL-ERBOA LE EShIBNU OL-MKRM BKSF TsDIQ UEBIUN BOBUR NOLIM ו כה אמר יהוה על-שלשה פשעי ישראל ועל-ארבעה לא אשיבנו על-מכרם בכסף צדיק ואביון בעבור נעלים
7 That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the humble; and a man and his father go to the same maid, to profane My holy name; Z AShEFIM OL-OFR-ERTs BRESh DLIM UDRK ONUIM ITU UEISh UEBIU ILKU EL-ANORA LMON ChLL ETh-ShM QDShI ז השאפים על-עפר-ארץ בראש דלים ודרך ענוים יטו ואיש ואביו ילכו אל-הנערה למען חלל את-שם קדשי
8 They lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge, and in the house of their God they drink the wine of them that have been fined. Ch UOL-BGDIM ChBLIM ITU ETsL KL-MZBCh UIIN ONUShIM IShThU BITh ELAIAM ח ועל-בגדים חבלים יטו אצל כל-מזבח ויין ענושים ישתו בית אלהיהם
9 Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of the cedars, and he was strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath. 10 Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorites. I UENKI AOLIThI EThKM MERTs MTsRIM UEULK EThKM BMDBR ERBOIM ShNA LRShTh ETh-ERTs AEMRI י ואנכי העליתי אתכם מארץ מצרים ואולך אתכם במדבר ארבעים שנה לרשת את-ארץ האמרי
11 I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazirites. Is it not even thus, O you children of Israel? says IAUA. IE UEQIM MBNIKM LNBIEIM UMBChURIKM LNZRIM AEF EIN-ZETh BNI IShREL NEM-IAUA יא ואקים מבניכם לנביאים ומבחוריכם לנזרים האף אין-זאת בני ישראל נאם-יהוה
12 But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying: 'Prophesy not.' IB UThShQU ETh-ANZRIM IIN UOL-ANBIEIM TsUIThM LEMR LE ThNBEU יב ותשקו את-הנזרים יין ועל-הנביאים צויתם לאמר לא תנבאו
13 Behold, I will make it creak under you, as a cart creaks that is full of sheaves. IG ANA ENKI MOIQ ThChThIKM KEShR ThOIQ AOGLA AMLEA LA OMIR יג הנה אנכי מעיק תחתיכם כאשר תעיק העגלה המלאה לה עמיר
14 Flight shall fail the swift, and the strong shall not exert his strength, neither shall the mighty deliver himself; ID UEBD MNUS MQL UChZQ LE-IEMTs KChU UGBUR LE-IMLT NFShU יד ואבד מנוס מקל וחזק לא-יאמץ כחו וגבור לא-ימלט נפשו
15 Neither shall he stand that handles the bow; and he that is swift of foot shall not deliver himself; neither shall he that rides the horse deliver himself; TU UThFSh AQShTh LE IOMD UQL BRGLIU LE IMLT URKB ASUS LE IMLT NFShU טו ותפש הקשת לא יעמד וקל ברגליו לא ימלט ורכב הסוס לא ימלט נפשו
16 He that is courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, says IAUA. TZ UEMITs LBU BGBURIM ORUM INUS BIUM-AAUE NEM-IAUA טז ואמיץ לבו בגבורים ערום ינוס ביום-ההוא נאם-יהוה
