The People Confess Their Sin | ||||

| 2 The seed of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers. | B UIBDLU ZRO IShREL MKL BNI NKR UIOMDU UIThUDU OL-ChTEThIAM UOUNUTh EBThIAM | ב ויבדלו זרע ישראל מכל בני נכר ויעמדו ויתודו על-חטאתיהם ועונות אבתיהם | ||

| 4 Then stood up on the platform of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani, and cried with a loud voice to IAUA their God. | D UIQM OL-MOLA ALUIM IShUO UBNI QDMIEL ShBNIA BNI ShRBIA BNI KNNI UIZOQU BQUL GDUL EL-IAUA ELAIAM | ד ויקם על-מעלה הלוים ישוע ובני קדמיאל שבניה בני שרביה בני כנני ויזעקו בקול גדול אל-יהוה אלהיהם | ||
| 5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said: 'Stand up and bless IAUA your God from everlasting to everlasting; and let them say: Blessed be Your glorious Name, that is exalted above all blessing and praise. | A UIEMRU ALUIM IShUO UQDMIEL BNI ChShBNIA ShRBIA AUDIA ShBNIA FThChIA QUMU BRKU ETh-IAUA ELAIKM MN-AOULM OD-AOULM UIBRKU ShM KBDK UMRUMM OL-KL-BRKA UThALA | ה ויאמרו הלוים ישוע וקדמיאל בני חשבניה שרביה הודיה שבניה פתחיה קומו ברכו את-יהוה אלהיכם מן-העולם עד-העולם ויברכו שם כבדך ומרומם על-כל-ברכה ותהלה | ||

| 9 You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea; | T UThRE ETh-ONI EBThINU BMTsRIM UETh-ZOQThM ShMOTh OL-IM-SUF | ט ותרא את-עני אבתינו במצרים ואת-זעקתם שמעת על-ים-סוף | ||
| 10 and didst show signs and wonders on Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land; for You knew that they dealt proudly against them; and didst get You a name, as it is this day. | I UThThN EThTh UMFThIM BFROA UBKL-OBDIU UBKL-OM ERTsU KI IDOTh KI AZIDU OLIAM UThOSh-LK ShM KAIUM AZA | י ותתן אתת ומפתים בפרעה ובכל-עבדיו ובכל-עם ארצו כי ידעת כי הזידו עליהם ותעש-לך שם כהיום הזה | ||
| 11 You didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the middle of the sea on the dry land; and their pursuers You didst cast into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters. | IE UAIM BQOTh LFNIAM UIOBRU BThUK-AIM BIBShA UETh-RDFIAM AShLKTh BMTsULTh KMU-EBN BMIM OZIM | יא והים בקעת לפניהם ויעברו בתוך-הים ביבשה ואת-רדפיהם השלכת במצולת כמו-אבן במים עזים | ||
| 12 Moreover in a pillar of cloud You didst lead them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way wherein they should go. | IB UBOMUD ONN ANChIThM IUMM UBOMUD ESh LILA LAEIR LAM ETh-ADRK EShR ILKU-BA | יב ובעמוד ענן הנחיתם יומם ובעמוד אש לילה להאיר להם את-הדרך אשר ילכו-בה | ||

| 14 and made known to them Your holy sabbath, and didst command them commandments, and statutes, and a law, by the hand of Moses Your servant; | ID UETh-ShBTh QDShK AUDOTh LAM UMTsUUTh UChQIM UThURA TsUITh LAM BID MShA OBDK | יד ואת-שבת קדשך הודעת להם ומצוות וחקים ותורה צוית להם ביד משה עבדך | ||

| 18 Yes, when they had made them a molten calf, and said: 'This is your God that brought you up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations; | ICh EF KI-OShU LAM OGL MSKA UIEMRU ZA ELAIK EShR AOLK MMTsRIM UIOShU NETsUTh GDLUTh | יח אף כי-עשו להם עגל מסכה ויאמרו זה אלהיך אשר העלך ממצרים ויעשו נאצות גדלות | ||
| 19 yet You in Your manifold mercies forsook them not in the wilderness; the pillar of cloud departed not from over them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way wherein they should go. | IT UEThA BRChMIK ARBIM LE OZBThM BMDBR ETh-OMUD AONN LE-SR MOLIAM BIUMM LANChThM BADRK UETh-OMUD AESh BLILA LAEIR LAM UETh-ADRK EShR ILKU-BA | יט ואתה ברחמיך הרבים לא עזבתם במדבר את-עמוד הענן לא-סר מעליהם ביומם להנחתם בהדרך ואת-עמוד האש בלילה להאיר להם ואת-הדרך אשר ילכו-בה | ||
| 20 You gave also Your good spirit to instruct them, and withheld not Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. | K URUChK ATUBA NThTh LAShKILM UMNK LE-MNOTh MFIAM UMIM NThThA LAM LTsMEM | כ ורוחך הטובה נתת להשכילם ומנך לא-מנעת מפיהם ומים נתתה להם לצמאם | ||
| 21 Yes, forty years didst You sustain them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not. | KE UERBOIM ShNA KLKLThM BMDBR LE ChSRU ShLMThIAM LE BLU URGLIAM LE BTsQU | כא וארבעים שנה כלכלתם במדבר לא חסרו שלמתיהם לא בלו ורגליהם לא בצקו | ||
| 22 Moreover You gave them kingdoms and peoples, which You didst allot quarter by quarter; so they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan. | KB UThThN LAM MMLKUTh UOMMIM UThChLQM LFEA UIIRShU ETh-ERTs SIChUN UETh-ERTs MLK ChShBUN UETh-ERTs OUG MLK-ABShN | כב ותתן להם ממלכות ועממים ותחלקם לפאה ויירשו את-ארץ סיחון ואת-ארץ מלך חשבון ואת-ארץ עוג מלך-הבשן | ||
| 23 Their children also didst You increase as the stars of heaven, and didst bring them into the land, concerning which You didst say to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it. | KG UBNIAM ARBITh KKKBI AShMIM UThBIEM EL-AERTs EShR-EMRTh LEBThIAM LBUE LRShTh | כג ובניהם הרבית כככבי השמים ותביאם אל-הארץ אשר-אמרת לאבתיהם לבוא לרשת | ||

| 25 They took fortified cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns hewn out, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit-trees in abundance; so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and luxuriated in Your great goodness. | KA UILKDU ORIM BTsURTh UEDMA ShMNA UIIRShU BThIM MLEIM-KL-TUB BRUTh ChTsUBIM KRMIM UZIThIM UOTs MEKL LRB UIEKLU UIShBOU UIShMINU UIThODNU BTUBK AGDUL | כה וילכדו ערים בצורת ואדמה שמנה ויירשו בתים מלאים-כל-טוב ברות חצובים כרמים וזיתים ועץ מאכל לרב ויאכלו וישבעו וישמינו ויתעדנו בטובך הגדול | ||
| 26 Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against You, and cast Your law behind their back, and slew Your prophets that did forewarn them to turn them back to You, and they wrought great provocations. | KU UIMRU UIMRDU BK UIShLKU ETh-ThURThK EChRI GUM UETh-NBIEIK ARGU EShR-AOIDU BM LAShIBM ELIK UIOShU NETsUTh GDULTh | כו וימרו וימרדו בך וישלכו את-תורתך אחרי גום ואת-נביאיך הרגו אשר-העידו בם להשיבם אליך ויעשו נאצות גדולת | ||

| 28 But after they had rest, they did evil again before You; therefore didst You leave them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them; yet when they returned, and cried to You, many times didst You hear from heaven, and deliver them according to Your mercies; | KCh UKNUCh LAM IShUBU LOShUTh RO LFNIK UThOZBM BID EIBIAM UIRDU BAM UIShUBU UIZOQUK UEThA MShMIM ThShMO UThTsILM KRChMIK RBUTh OThIM | כח וכנוח להם ישובו לעשות רע לפניך ותעזבם ביד איביהם וירדו בהם וישובו ויזעקוך ואתה משמים תשמע ותצילם כרחמיך רבות עתים | ||

| 30 Yet many years didst You extend mercy to them, and didst forewarn them by Your spirit through Your prophets; yet would they not give ear; therefore gave You them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. | L UThMShK OLIAM ShNIM RBUTh UThOD BM BRUChK BID-NBIEIK ULE AEZINU UThThNM BID OMI AERTsTh | ל ותמשך עליהם שנים רבות ותעד בם ברוחך ביד-נביאיך ולא האזינו ותתנם ביד עמי הארצת | ||
| 31 Nevertheless in Your manifold mercies You didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for You are a gracious and merciful God. | LE UBRChMIK ARBIM LE-OShIThM KLA ULE OZBThM KI EL-ChNUN URChUM EThA | לא וברחמיך הרבים לא-עשיתם כלה ולא עזבתם כי אל-חנון ורחום אתה | ||

| 33 Howbeit You are just in all that is come on us; for You have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly; | LG UEThA TsDIQ OL KL-ABE OLINU KI-EMTh OShITh UENChNU ARShONU | לג ואתה צדיק על כל-הבא עלינו כי-אמת עשית ואנחנו הרשענו | ||
