3 and command you them, saying: Take you hence out of the middle of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood, twelve stones made ready, and carry them over with you, and lay them down in the lodging-place, where you shall lodge this night.' 6 that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask in time to come, saying: What mean you by these stones? U LMON ThAIA ZETh EUTh BQRBKM KI-IShELUN BNIKM MChR LEMR MA AEBNIM AELA LKM ו למען תהיה זאת אות בקרבכם כי-ישאלון בניכם מחר לאמר מה האבנים האלה לכם
7 then you shall say to them: Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of IAUA; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off; and these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel for ever.' 8 The children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, as IAUA spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel; and they carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there. 9 Joshua also set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day. 10 The priests that bore the ark stood in the middle of the Jordan, until every thing was finished that IAUA commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua; and the people hastened and passed over. 12 The children of Reuben, and the children of Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, passed on armed before the children of Israel, as Moses spoke to them; IB UIOBRU BNI-REUBN UBNI-GD UChTsI ShBT AMNShA ChMShIM LFNI BNI IShREL KEShR DBR ELIAM MShA יב ויעברו בני-ראובן ובני-גד וחצי שבט המנשה חמשים לפני בני ישראל כאשר דבר אליהם משה

14 On that day IAUA magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life. 16 'Command the priests that bear the ark of the testimony, that they come up out of the Jordan.' TZ TsUA ETh-AKANIM NShEI ERUN AODUTh UIOLU MN-AIRDN טז צוה את-הכהנים נשאי ארון העדות ויעלו מן-הירדן
17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying: 'Come you up out of the Jordan.' IZ UITsU IAUShO ETh-AKANIM LEMR OLU MN-AIRDN יז ויצו יהושע את-הכהנים לאמר עלו מן-הירדן
18 It came to pass, as the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of IAUA came up out of the middle of the Jordan, as soon as the soles of the priests' feet were drawn up to the dry ground, that the waters of the Jordan returned to their place, and went over all its banks, as aforetime. 21 He spoke to the children of Israel, saying: 'When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, saying: What mean these stones? KE UIEMR EL-BNI IShREL LEMR EShR IShELUN BNIKM MChR ETh-EBUThM LEMR MA AEBNIM AELA כא ויאמר אל-בני ישראל לאמר אשר ישאלון בניכם מחר את-אבותם לאמר מה האבנים האלה
22 then you shall let your children know, saying: Israel came over this Jordan on dry land. KB UAUDOThM ETh-BNIKM LEMR BIBShA OBR IShREL ETh-AIRDN AZA כב והודעתם את-בניכם לאמר ביבשה עבר ישראל את-הירדן הזה
23 For IAUA your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until you were passed over, as IAUA your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up from before us, until we were passed over, KG EShR-AUBISh IAUA ELAIKM ETh-MI AIRDN MFNIKM OD-OBRKM KEShR OShA IAUA ELAIKM LIM-SUF EShR-AUBISh MFNINU OD-OBRNU כג אשר-הוביש יהוה אלהיכם את-מי הירדן מפניכם עד-עברכם כאשר עשה יהוה אלהיכם לים-סוף אשר-הוביש מפנינו עד-עברנו
