| 10 IAUA discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon; and they chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth-horon, and smote them to Azekah, and to Makkedah. | I UIAMM IAUA LFNI IShREL UIKM MKA-GDULA BGBOUN UIRDFM DRK MOLA BITh-ChURN UIKM OD-OZQA UOD-MQDA | י ויהמם יהוה לפני ישראל ויכם מכה-גדולה בגבעון וירדפם דרך מעלה בית-חורן ויכם עד-עזקה ועד-מקדה | ||

| 13 The sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jashar? | 16 These five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah. | TZ UINSU ChMShTh AMLKIM AELA UIChBEU BMORA BMQDA | טז וינסו חמשת המלכים האלה ויחבאו במערה במקדה | ||
| 17 It was told Joshua, saying: 'The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.' | IZ UIGD LIAUShO LEMR NMTsEU ChMShTh AMLKIM NChBEIM BMORA BMQDA | יז ויגד ליהושע לאמר נמצאו חמשת המלכים נחבאים במערה במקדה | ||
| 18 Joshua said: 'Roll great stones to the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to keep them; | ICh UIEMR IAUShO GLU EBNIM GDLUTh EL-FI AMORA UAFQIDU OLIA ENShIM LShMRM | יח ויאמר יהושע גלו אבנים גדלות אל-פי המערה והפקידו עליה אנשים לשמרם | ||

| 24 It came to pass, when they brought forth those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war that went with him: 'Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.'
