3 The vision is about an appointed time. It speaks of the end and does not lie. Though it takes a long time to come, wait for it It will certainly come, it will not delay." 5 Yes, moreover, wine is a treacherous dealer; the haughty man abides not; he who enlarges his desire as the nether-world, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers to him all nations, and heaps to him all peoples. 6 Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting riddle against him, and say: 'Woe to him that increases that which is not his! how long? and that lades himself with many pledges!' 8 Because you have spoiled many nations, all the remnant of the peoples shall spoil you; because of men's blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein. 10 You have devised shame to your house, by cutting off many peoples, and have forfeited your life. I IOTsTh BShTh LBIThK QTsUTh-OMIM RBIM UChUTE NFShK י יעצת בשת לביתך קצות-עמים רבים וחוטא נפשך
11 For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it. IE KI-EBN MQIR ThZOQ UKFIS MOTs IONNA יא כי-אבן מקיר תזעק וכפיס מעץ יעננה
12 Woe to him that builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity! IB AUI BNA OIR BDMIM UKUNN QRIA BOULA יב הוי בנה עיר בדמים וכונן קריה בעולה
13 Behold, is it not of IAUA of hosts that the peoples labour for the fire, and the nations weary themselves for vanity? IG ALUE ANA METh IAUA TsBEUTh UIIGOU OMIM BDI-ESh ULEMIM BDI-RIQ IOFU יג הלוא הנה מאת יהוה צבאות וייגעו עמים בדי-אש ולאמים בדי-ריק יעפו
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of IAUA, as the waters cover the sea. ID KI ThMLE AERTs LDOTh ETh-KBUD IAUA KMIM IKSU OL-IM יד כי תמלא הארץ לדעת את-כבוד יהוה כמים יכסו על-ים
15 Woe to him that gives his neighbor drink, that put your venom thereto, and make him drunken also, that you may look on their nakedness! TU AUI MShQA ROAU MSFCh ChMThK UEF ShKR LMON ABIT OL-MOURIAM טו הוי משקה רעהו מספח חמתך ואף שכר למען הביט על-מעוריהם
16 You are filled with shame instead of glory, drink you also, and be uncovered; the cup of IAUA's right hand shall be turned to you, and filthiness shall be on your glory. 17 For the violence done to Lebanon shall cover you, and the destruction of the beasts, which made them afraid; because of men's blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein. 18 What profits the graven image, that the maker thereof has graven it, even the molten image, and the teacher of lies; that the maker of his work trusts therein, to make dumb idols? 19 Woe to him that says to the wood: 'Awake', to the dumb stone: 'Arise!' Can this teach? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the middle of it.
