Joseph Interprets a Dream

2 Pharaoh was wroth against his two officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers. B UIQTsF FROA OL ShNI SRISIU OL ShR AMShQIM UOL ShR AEUFIM ב ויקצף פרעה על שני סריסיו על שר המשקים ועל שר האופים

4 The captain of the guard charged Joseph to be with them, and he ministered to them; and they continued a season in ward. D UIFQD ShR ATBChIM ETh-IUSF EThM UIShRTh EThM UIAIU IMIM BMShMR ד ויפקד שר הטבחים את-יוסף אתם וישרת אתם ויהיו ימים במשמר
5 They dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream, in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were bound in the prison. 6 Joseph came in to them in the morning, and saw them, and, behold, they were sad. U UIBE ELIAM IUSF BBQR UIRE EThM UANM ZOFIM ו ויבא אליהם יוסף בבקר וירא אתם והנם זעפים
7 He asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his master's house, saying: 'Wherefore look you so sad to-day?' Z UIShEL ETh-SRISI FROA EShR EThU BMShMR BITh EDNIU LEMR MDUO FNIKM ROIM AIUM ז וישאל את-סריסי פרעה אשר אתו במשמר בית אדניו לאמר מדוע פניכם רעים היום
8 They said to him: 'We have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it.' Joseph said to them: 'Do not interpretations belong to God? tell it me, I pray you.' 9 The chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him: 'In my dream, behold, a vine was before me; T UISFR ShR-AMShQIM ETh-ChLMU LIUSF UIEMR LU BChLUMI UANA-GFN LFNI ט ויספר שר-המשקים את-חלמו ליוסף ויאמר לו בחלומי והנה-גפן לפני
10 and in the vine were three branches; and as it was budding, its blossoms shot forth, and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes, I UBGFN ShLShA ShRIGM UAUE KFRChTh OLThA NTsA ABShILU EShKLThIA ONBIM י ובגפן שלשה שריגם והוא כפרחת עלתה נצה הבשילו אשכלתיה ענבים
11 and Pharaoh's cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.' 12 Joseph said to him: 'This is the interpretation of it: the three branches are three days; IB UIEMR LU IUSF ZA FThRNU ShLShTh AShRGIM ShLShTh IMIM AM יב ויאמר לו יוסף זה פתרנו שלשת השרגים שלשת ימים הם
13 within yet three days shall Pharaoh lift up your head, and restore you to your office; and you shall give Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when you were his butler. IG BOUD ShLShTh IMIM IShE FROA ETh-REShK UAShIBK OL-KNK UNThTh KUS-FROA BIDU KMShFT AREShUN EShR AIITh MShQAU יג בעוד שלשת ימים ישא פרעה את-ראשך והשיבך על-כנך ונתת כוס-פרעה בידו כמשפט הראשון אשר היית משקהו
14 But have me in your remembrance when it shall be well with you, and show kindness, I pray you, to me, and make mention of me to Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house. 16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said to Joseph: 'I also saw in my dream, and, behold, three baskets of white bread were on my head; TZ UIRE ShR-AEFIM KI TUB FThR UIEMR EL-IUSF EF-ENI BChLUMI UANA ShLShA SLI ChRI OL-REShI טז וירא שר-האפים כי טוב פתר ויאמר אל-יוסף אף-אני בחלומי והנה שלשה סלי חרי על-ראשי
17 and in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of baked food for Pharaoh; and the flying creatures did eat them out of the basket on my head.' IZ UBSL AOLIUN MKL MEKL FROA MOShA EFA UAOUF EKL EThM MN-ASL MOL REShI יז ובסל העליון מכל מאכל פרעה מעשה אפה והעוף אכל אתם מן-הסל מעל ראשי
18 Joseph answered and said: 'This is the interpretation thereof: the three baskets are three days; ICh UION IUSF UIEMR ZA FThRNU ShLShTh ASLIM ShLShTh IMIM AM יח ויען יוסף ויאמר זה פתרנו שלשת הסלים שלשת ימים הם
19 within yet three days shall Pharaoh lift up your head from off you, and shall hang you on a tree; and the flying creatures shall eat your flesh from off you.' IT BOUD ShLShTh IMIM IShE FROA ETh-REShK MOLIK UThLA EUThK OL-OTs UEKL AOUF ETh-BShRK MOLIK יט בעוד שלשת ימים ישא פרעה את-ראשך מעליך ותלה אותך על-עץ ואכל העוף את-בשרך מעליך
20 It came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast to all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and the head of the chief baker among his servants. Joseph Interprets a Dream
