| 3 and say: Thus says my Lord IAUA to Jerusalem: Your origin and your nativity is of the land of the Canaanite; the Amorite was your father, and your mother was a Hittite. | G UEMRTh KA-EMR EDNI IAUA LIRUShLM MKRThIK UMLDThIK MERTs AKNONI EBIK AEMRI UEMK ChThITh | ג ואמרת כה-אמר אדני יהוה לירושלם מכרתיך ומלדתיך מארץ הכנעני אביך האמרי ואמך חתית | ||

| 7 I cause you to increase, even as the growth of the field. | 10 I clothed you also with richly woven work, and shod you with sealskin, and I wound fine linen about your head, and covered you with silk. | I UELBIShK RQMA UENOLK ThChSh UEChBShK BShSh UEKSK MShI | י ואלבישך רקמה ואנעלך תחש ואחבשך בשש ואכסך משי | ||
| 11 I decked you also with ornaments, and I put bracelets on your hands, and a chain on your neck. | IE UEODK ODI UEThNA TsMIDIM OL-IDIK URBID OL-GRUNK | יא ואעדך עדי ואתנה צמידים על-ידיך ורביד על-גרונך | ||
| 12 I put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head. | IB UEThN NZM OL-EFK UOGILIM OL-EZNIK UOTRTh ThFERTh BREShK | יב ואתן נזם על-אפך ועגילים על-אזניך ועטרת תפארת בראשך | ||

| 14 Your renown went forth among the nations for your beauty; for it was perfect, through My splendour which I had put on you, says my Lord IAUA. | ID UITsE LK ShM BGUIM BIFIK KI KLIL AUE BADRI EShR-ShMThI OLIK NEM EDNI IAUA | יד ויצא לך שם בגוים ביפיך כי כליל הוא בהדרי אשר-שמתי עליך נאם אדני יהוה | ||
| 15 But you didst trust in your beauty and play the harlot because of your renown, and didst pour out your harlotries on every one that passed by; his it was. | TU UThBTChI BIFIK UThZNI OL-ShMK UThShFKI ETh-ThZNUThIK OL-KL-OUBR LU-IAI | טו ותבטחי ביפיך ותזני על-שמך ותשפכי את-תזנותיך על-כל-עובר לו-יהי | ||
| 16 You didst take of your garments, and didst make for you high places decked with divers colours, and didst play the harlot on them; the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so. | TZ UThQChI MBGDIK UThOShI-LK BMUTh TLEUTh UThZNI OLIAM LE BEUTh ULE IAIA | טז ותקחי מבגדיך ותעשי-לך במות טלאות ותזני עליהם לא באות ולא יהיה | ||
| 17 You didst also take your fair jewels of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made for you images of men, and didst play the harlot with them; | IZ UThQChI KLI ThFERThK MZABI UMKSFI EShR NThThI LK UThOShI-LK TsLMI ZKR UThZNI-BM | יז ותקחי כלי תפארתך מזהבי ומכספי אשר נתתי לך ותעשי-לך צלמי זכר ותזני-בם | ||
| 18 and you didst take your richly woven garments and cover them, and didst set Mine oil and Mine incense before them. | ICh UThQChI ETh-BGDI RQMThK UThKSIM UShMNI UQTRThI NThThI (NThTh) LFNIAM | יח ותקחי את-בגדי רקמתך ותכסים ושמני וקטרתי נתתי (נתת) לפניהם | ||
| 19 My bread also which I gave you, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed you, you didst even set it before them for a sweet savour, and thus it was; says my Lord IAUA. | IT ULChMI EShR-NThThI LK SLTh UShMN UDBSh AEKLThIK UNThThIAU LFNIAM LRICh NIChCh UIAI NEM EDNI IAUA | יט ולחמי אשר-נתתי לך סלת ושמן ודבש האכלתיך ונתתיהו לפניהם לריח ניחח ויהי נאם אדני יהוה | ||
| 20 Moreover you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to Me, and these have you sacrificed to them to be devoured. | 21 that you have slain My children, and delivered them up, in setting them apart to them? | KE UThShChTI ETh-BNI UThThNIM BAOBIR EUThM LAM | כא ותשחטי את-בני ותתנים בהעביר אותם להם | ||
| 22 In all your abominations and your harlotries you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and were wallowing in your blood. | KB UETh KL-ThUOBThIK UThZNThIK LE ZKRThI (ZKRTh) ETh-IMI NOURIK BAIUThK OIRM UORIA MThBUSSTh BDMK AIITh | כב ואת כל-תועבתיך ותזנתיך לא זכרתי (זכרת) את-ימי נעוריך בהיותך עירם ועריה מתבוססת בדמך היית | ||
| 23 It came to pass after all your wickedness--woe, woe to you! Says my Lord IAUA-- | KG UIAI EChRI KL-ROThK EUI EUI LK NEM EDNI IAUA | כג ויהי אחרי כל-רעתך אוי אוי לך נאם אדני יהוה | ||
| 24 that you have built to you an eminent place, and have made you a lofty place in every street. | KD UThBNI-LK GB UThOShI-LK RMA BKL-RChUB | כד ותבני-לך גב ותעשי-לך רמה בכל-רחוב | ||
| 25 You have built your lofty place at every head of the way, and have made your beauty an abomination, and have opened your feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied your harlotries. | KA EL-KL-RESh DRK BNITh RMThK UThThOBI ETh-IFIK UThFShQI ETh-RGLIK LKL-OUBR UThRBI ETh-ThZNUThK (ThZNUThIK) | כה אל-כל-ראש דרך בנית רמתך ותתעבי את-יפיך ותפשקי את-רגליך לכל-עובר ותרבי את-תזנותך (תזנותיך) | ||
| 26 You have also played the harlot with the Egyptians, your neighbors, great of flesh; and have multiplied your harlotry, to provoke Me. | KU UThZNI EL-BNI-MTsRIM ShKNIK GDLI BShR UThRBI ETh-ThZNThK LAKOISNI | כו ותזני אל-בני-מצרים שכניך גדלי בשר ותרבי את-תזנתך להכעיסני | ||
| 27 Behold, therefore I have stretched out My hand over you, and have diminished your allowance, and delivered you to the will of them that hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, that are ashamed of your lewd way. | KZ UANA NTIThI IDI OLIK UEGRO ChQK UEThNK BNFSh ShNEUThIK BNUTh FLShThIM ANKLMUTh MDRKK ZMA | כז והנה נטיתי ידי עליך ואגרע חקך ואתנך בנפש שנאותיך בנות פלשתים הנכלמות מדרכך זמה | ||
| 28 You have played the harlot also with the Assyrians, without having enough; yes, you have played the harlot with them, and yet you were not satisfied. | KCh UThZNI EL-BNI EShUR MBLThI ShBOThK UThZNIM UGM LE ShBOTh | כח ותזני אל-בני אשור מבלתי שבעתך ותזנים וגם לא שבעת | ||
| 29 You have moreover multiplied your harlotry with the land of traffic, even with Chaldea; and yet you didst not have enough herewith. | KT UThRBI ETh-ThZNUThK EL-ERTs KNON KShDIMA UGM-BZETh LE ShBOTh | כט ותרבי את-תזנותך אל-ארץ כנען כשדימה וגם-בזאת לא שבעת | ||
| 30 How weak is your heart, says my Lord IAUA, seeing you do all these things, the work of a wanton harlot; | L MA EMLA LBThK NEM EDNI IAUA BOShUThK ETh-KL-ELA MOShA EShA-ZUNA ShLTTh | ל מה אמלה לבתך נאם אדני יהוה בעשותך את-כל-אלה מעשה אשה-זונה שלטת | ||

| 32 You wife that commit adultery, that take strangers instead of your husband-- | LB AEShA AMNEFTh ThChTh EIShA ThQCh ETh-ZRIM | לב האשה המנאפת תחת אישה תקח את-זרים | ||
| 33 to all harlots gifts are given; but you have given your gifts to all your lovers, and have bribed them to come to you from every side in your harlotries. | LG LKL-ZNUTh IThNU-NDA UETh NThTh ETh-NDNIK LKL-MEABIK UThShChDI EUThM LBUE ELIK MSBIB BThZNUThIK | לג לכל-זנות יתנו-נדה ואת נתת את-נדניך לכל-מאהביך ותשחדי אותם לבוא אליך מסביב בתזנותיך | ||

| 36 Thus says my Lord IAUA, Because your filthiness was poured out, and your nakedness uncovered through your harlotries with your lovers; and because of all the idols of your abominations, and for the blood of your children, that you didst give to them; | LU KA-EMR EDNI IAUA ION AShFK NChShThK UThGLA ORUThK BThZNUThIK OL-MEABIK UOL KL-GLULI ThUOBUThIK UKDMI BNIK EShR NThTh LAM | לו כה-אמר אדני יהוה יען השפך נחשתך ותגלה ערותך בתזנותיך על-מאהביך ועל כל-גלולי תועבותיך וכדמי בניך אשר נתת להם | ||

| 38 I will judge you, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will bring on you the blood of fury and jealousy. | LCh UShFTThIK MShFTI NEFUTh UShFKTh DM UNThThIK DM ChMA UQNEA | לח ושפטתיך משפטי נאפות ושפכת דם ונתתיך דם חמה וקנאה | ||

| 40 They shall also bring up an assembly against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and thrust you through with their swords. | M UAOLU OLIK QAL URGMU EUThK BEBN UBThQUK BChRBUThM | מ והעלו עליך קהל ורגמו אותך באבן ובתקוך בחרבותם | ||
| 41 They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will cause you to cease from playing the harlot, and you shall also give no hire any more. | ME UShRFU BThIK BESh UOShU-BK ShFTIM LOINI NShIM RBUTh UAShBThIK MZUNA UGM-EThNN LE ThThNI-OUD | מא ושרפו בתיך באש ועשו-בך שפטים לעיני נשים רבות והשבתיך מזונה וגם-אתנן לא תתני-עוד | ||

| 44 Behold, every one that uses proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying: As the mother, so her daughter. | MD ANA KL-AMShL OLIK IMShL LEMR KEMA BThA | מד הנה כל-המשל עליך ימשל לאמר כאמה בתה | ||
