| 1 Moreover Ahithophel said to Absalom: 'Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night; | E UIEMR EChIThFL EL-EBShLUM EBChRA NE ShNIM-OShR ELF EISh UEQUMA UERDFA EChRI-DUD ALILA | א ויאמר אחיתפל אל-אבשלום אבחרה נא שנים-עשר אלף איש ואקומה וארדפה אחרי-דוד הלילה | ||
| 2 and I will come on him while he is weary and weak-handed, and will make him afraid; and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only; | B UEBUE OLIU UAUE IGO URFA IDIM UAChRDThI EThU UNS KL-AOM EShR-EThU UAKIThI ETh-AMLK LBDU | ב ואבוא עליו והוא יגע ורפה ידים והחרדתי אתו ונס כל-העם אשר-אתו והכיתי את-המלך לבדו | ||

| 5 Then said Absalom: 'Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he says.' | A UIEMR EBShLUM QRE NE GM LChUShI AERKI UNShMOA MA-BFIU GM-AUE | ה ויאמר אבשלום קרא נא גם לחושי הארכי ונשמעה מה-בפיו גם-הוא | ||
| 6 When Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spoke to him, saying: 'Ahithophel has spoken after this manner; shall we do after his saying? if not, speak you.' | U UIBE ChUShI EL-EBShLUM UIEMR EBShLUM ELIU LEMR KDBR AZA DBR EChIThFL ANOShA ETh-DBRU EM-EIN EThA DBR | ו ויבא חושי אל-אבשלום ויאמר אבשלום אליו לאמר כדבר הזה דבר אחיתפל הנעשה את-דברו אם-אין אתה דבר | ||

| 9 Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some place; and it will come to pass, when they fall on them at the first, and whosoever hears it shall say: There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom; | T ANA OThA AUE-NChBE BEChTh AFChThIM EU BEChD AMQUMTh UAIA KNFL BAM BThChLA UShMO AShMO UEMR AIThA MGFA BOM EShR EChRI EBShLM | ט הנה עתה הוא-נחבא באחת הפחתים או באחד המקומת והיה כנפל בהם בתחלה ושמע השמע ואמר היתה מגפה בעם אשר אחרי אבשלם | ||

| 11 But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together to you, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in your own person. | IE KI IOTsThI AESF IESF OLIK KL-IShREL MDN UOD-BER ShBO KChUL EShR-OL-AIM LRB UFNIK ALKIM BQRB | יא כי יעצתי האסף יאסף עליך כל-ישראל מדן ועד-באר שבע כחול אשר-על-הים לרב ופניך הלכים בקרב | ||

| 13 Moreover, if he withdraw himself into a city, then shall all Israel bring up ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the valley until there be not one small stone found there.' | IG UEM-EL-OIR IESF UAShIEU KL-IShREL EL-AOIR AAIE ChBLIM USChBNU EThU OD-ANChL OD EShR-LE-NMTsE ShM GM-TsRUR | יג ואם-אל-עיר יאסף והשיאו כל-ישראל אל-העיר ההיא חבלים וסחבנו אתו עד-הנחל עד אשר-לא-נמצא שם גם-צרור | ||
| 14 Absalom and all the men of Israel said: 'The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel.' --For IAUA had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that IAUA might bring evil on Absalom. | ID UIEMR EBShLUM UKL-EISh IShREL TUBA OTsTh ChUShI AERKI MOTsTh EChIThFL UIAUA TsUA LAFR ETh-OTsTh EChIThFL ATUBA LBOBUR ABIE IAUA EL-EBShLUM ETh-AROA | יד ויאמר אבשלום וכל-איש ישראל טובה עצת חושי הארכי מעצת אחיתפל ויהוה צוה להפר את-עצת אחיתפל הטובה לבעבור הביא יהוה אל-אבשלום את-הרעה | ||

| 18 But a lad saw them, and told Absalom; and they went both of them away quickly, and came to the house of a man in Bahurim, who had a well in his court; and they went down thither. | ICh UIRE EThM NOR UIGD LEBShLM UILKU ShNIAM MARA UIBEU EL-BITh-EISh BBChURIM ULU BER BChTsRU UIRDU ShM | יח וירא אתם נער ויגד לאבשלם וילכו שניהם מהרה ויבאו אל-בית-איש בבחורים ולו באר בחצרו וירדו שם | ||
| 19 The woman took and spread the covering over the well's mouth, and strewed groats thereon; and nothing was known. | IT UThQCh AEShA UThFRSh ETh-AMSK OL-FNI ABER UThShTCh OLIU ARFUTh ULE NUDO DBR | יט ותקח האשה ותפרש את-המסך על-פני הבאר ותשטח עליו הרפות ולא נודע דבר | ||
| 20 Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house; and they said: 'Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?' The woman said to them: 'They are gone over the brook of water.' | 25 Absalom had set Amasa over the host instead of Joab. | 27 It came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lo-debar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim, | KZ UIAI KBUE DUD MChNIMA UShBI BN-NChSh MRBTh BNI-OMUN UMKIR BN-OMIEL MLE DBR UBRZLI AGLODI MRGLIM | כז ויהי כבוא דוד מחנימה ושבי בן-נחש מרבת בני-עמון ומכיר בן-עמיאל מלא דבר וברזלי הגלעדי מרגלים | ||
