Solomon Turns from God | ||||

| 5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the detestation of the Ammonites. | A UILK ShLMA EChRI OShThRTh ELAI TsDNIM UEChRI MLKM ShQTs OMNIM | ה וילך שלמה אחרי עשתרת אלהי צדנים ואחרי מלכם שקץ עמנים | ||
| 6 Solomon did that which was evil in the sight of IAUA, and went not fully after IAUA, as did David his father. | U UIOSh ShLMA ARO BOINI IAUA ULE MLE EChRI IAUA KDUD EBIU | ו ויעש שלמה הרע בעיני יהוה ולא מלא אחרי יהוה כדוד אביו | ||

| 9 IAUA was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned away from IAUA, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, | T UIThENF IAUA BShLMA KI-NTA LBBU MOM IAUA ELAI IShREL ANREA ELIU FOMIM | ט ויתאנף יהוה בשלמה כי-נטה לבבו מעם יהוה אלהי ישראל הנראה אליו פעמים | ||
| 10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he kept not that which IAUA commanded. | I UTsUA ELIU OL-ADBR AZA LBLThI-LKTh EChRI ELAIM EChRIM ULE ShMR ETh EShR-TsUA IAUA | י וצוה אליו על-הדבר הזה לבלתי-לכת אחרי אלהים אחרים ולא שמר את אשר-צוה יהוה | ||
| 11 Wherefore IAUA said to Solomon: 'Forasmuch as this has been in your mind, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely rend the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant. | IE UIEMR IAUA LShLMA ION EShR AIThA-ZETh OMK ULE ShMRTh BRIThI UChQThI EShR TsUIThI OLIK QRO EQRO ETh-AMMLKA MOLIK UNThThIA LOBDK | יא ויאמר יהוה לשלמה יען אשר היתה-זאת עמך ולא שמרת בריתי וחקתי אשר צויתי עליך קרע אקרע את-הממלכה מעליך ונתתיה לעבדך | ||
| 12 Notwithstanding in your days I will not do it, for David your father's sake; but I will rend it out of the hand of your son. | IB EK-BIMIK LE EOShNA LMON DUD EBIK MID BNK EQRONA | יב אך-בימיך לא אעשנה למען דוד אביך מיד בנך אקרענה | ||
| 13 Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son; for David My servant's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake which I have chosen.' | IG RQ ETh-KL-AMMLKA LE EQRO ShBT EChD EThN LBNK LMON DUD OBDI ULMON IRUShLM EShR BChRThI | יג רק את-כל-הממלכה לא אקרע שבט אחד אתן לבנך למען דוד עבדי ולמען ירושלם אשר בחרתי | ||
| 14 IAUA raised up an adversary to Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the king's seed in Edom. | ID UIQM IAUA ShTN LShLMA ETh ADD AEDMI MZRO AMLK AUE BEDUM | יד ויקם יהוה שטן לשלמה את הדד האדמי מזרע המלך הוא באדום | ||
| 15 For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, and had smitten every male in Edom-- | TU UIAI BAIUTh DUD ETh-EDUM BOLUTh IUEB ShR ATsBE LQBR ETh-AChLLIM UIK KL-ZKR BEDUM | טו ויהי בהיות דוד את-אדום בעלות יואב שר הצבא לקבר את-החללים ויך כל-זכר באדום | ||
| 16 for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom-- | TZ KI ShShTh ChDShIM IShB-ShM IUEB UKL-IShREL OD-AKRITh KL-ZKR BEDUM | טז כי ששת חדשים ישב-שם יואב וכל-ישראל עד-הכרית כל-זכר באדום | ||
| 17 that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father's servants with him, to go into Egypt; Hadad being yet a little child. | IZ UIBRCh EDD AUE UENShIM EDMIIM MOBDI EBIU EThU LBUE MTsRIM UADD NOR QTN | יז ויברח אדד הוא ואנשים אדמיים מעבדי אביו אתו לבוא מצרים והדד נער קטן | ||

| 19 Hadad found great favour in the sight of Pharaoh, so that he gave him to wife the sister of his own wife, the sister of Tahpenes the queen. | IT UIMTsE ADD ChN BOINI FROA MED UIThN-LU EShA ETh-EChUTh EShThU EChUTh ThChFNIS AGBIRA | יט וימצא הדד חן בעיני פרעה מאד ויתן-לו אשה את-אחות אשתו אחות תחפניס הגבירה | ||

| 22 Then Pharaoh said to him: 'But what have you lacked with me, that, behold, you seek to go to your own country?' | 23 God raised up another adversary to him, Rezon the son of Eliada, who had fled from his lord Hadadezer king of Zobah. | KG UIQM ELAIM LU ShTN ETh-RZUN BN-ELIDO EShR BRCh METh ADDOZR MLK-TsUBA EDNIU | כג ויקם אלהים לו שטן את-רזון בן-אלידע אשר ברח מאת הדדעזר מלך-צובה אדניו | ||

| 26 Jeroboam the son of Nebat, an Ephraimite of Zeredah, a servant of Solomon, whose mother's name was Zeruah, a widow, he also lifted up his hand against the king. | KU UIRBOM BN-NBT EFRThI MN-ATsRDA UShM EMU TsRUOA EShA ELMNA OBD LShLMA UIRM ID BMLK | כו וירבעם בן-נבט אפרתי מן-הצרדה ושם אמו צרועה אשה אלמנה עבד לשלמה וירם יד במלך | ||
| 27 This was the cause that he lifted up his hand against the king: Solomon built Millo, and repaired the breach of the city of David his father. | KZ UZA ADBR EShR-ARIM ID BMLK ShLMA BNA ETh-AMLUE SGR ETh-FRTs OIR DUD EBIU | כז וזה הדבר אשר-הרים יד במלך שלמה בנה את-המלוא סגר את-פרץ עיר דוד אביו | ||
| 28 The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valour; and Solomon saw the young man that he was industrious, and he gave him charge over all the labour of the house of Joseph. | KCh UAEISh IRBOM GBUR ChIL UIRE ShLMA ETh-ANOR KI-OShA MLEKA AUE UIFQD EThU LKL-SBL BITh IUSF | כח והאיש ירבעם גבור חיל וירא שלמה את-הנער כי-עשה מלאכה הוא ויפקד אתו לכל-סבל בית יוסף | ||

| 30 Ahijah laid hold of the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces. | L UIThFSh EChIA BShLMA AChDShA EShR OLIU UIQROA ShNIM OShR QROIM | ל ויתפש אחיה בשלמה החדשה אשר עליו ויקרעה שנים עשר קרעים | ||

| 32 but he shall have one tribe, for My servant David's sake, and for Jerusalem's sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel-- | LB UAShBT AEChD IAIA-LU LMON OBDI DUD ULMON IRUShLM AOIR EShR BChRThI BA MKL ShBTI IShREL | לב והשבט האחד יהיה-לו למען עבדי דוד ולמען ירושלם העיר אשר בחרתי בה מכל שבטי ישראל | ||
