David's Address about the Temple | ||||
| 1 David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that served the king by course, and the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and cattle of the king and of his sons, with the officers, and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valour, to Jerusalem. | E UIQAL DUID ETh-KL-ShRI IShREL ShRI AShBTIM UShRI AMChLQUTh AMShRThIM ETh-AMLK UShRI AELFIM UShRI AMEUTh UShRI KL-RKUSh-UMQNA LMLK ULBNIU OM-ASRISIM UAGBURIM ULKL-GBUR ChIL EL-IRUShLM | א ויקהל דויד את-כל-שרי ישראל שרי השבטים ושרי המחלקות המשרתים את-המלך ושרי האלפים ושרי המאות ושרי כל-רכוש-ומקנה למלך ולבניו עם-הסריסים והגבורים ולכל-גבור חיל אל-ירושלם | ||

| 3 But God said to me: You shall not build a house for My name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood. | G UAELAIM EMR LI LE-ThBNA BITh LShMI KI EISh MLChMUTh EThA UDMIM ShFKTh | ג והאלהים אמר לי לא-תבנה בית לשמי כי איש מלחמות אתה ודמים שפכת | ||
| 4 Howbeit IAUA, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever; for He has chosen Judah to be prince, and in the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel; | D UIBChR IAUA ELAI IShREL BI MKL BITh-EBI LAIUTh LMLK OL-IShREL LOULM KI BIAUDA BChR LNGID UBBITh IAUDA BITh EBI UBBNI EBI BI RTsA LAMLIK OL-KL-IShREL | ד ויבחר יהוה אלהי ישראל בי מכל בית-אבי להיות למלך על-ישראל לעולם כי ביהודה בחר לנגיד ובבית יהודה בית אבי ובבני אבי בי רצה להמליך על-כל-ישראל | ||

| 6 He said to me: Solomon your son, he shall build My house and My courts; for I have chosen him to be to Me for a son, and I will be to him for a father. | U UIEMR LI ShLMA BNK AUE-IBNA BIThI UChTsRUThI KI-BChRThI BU LI LBN UENI EAIA-LU LEB | ו ויאמר לי שלמה בנך הוא-יבנה ביתי וחצרותי כי-בחרתי בו לי לבן ואני אהיה-לו לאב | ||
| 7 I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do My commandments and Mine ordinances, as at this day. | Z UAKINUThI ETh-MLKUThU OD-LOULM EM-IChZQ LOShUTh MTsUThI UMShFTI KIUM AZA | ז והכינותי את-מלכותו עד-לעולם אם-יחזק לעשות מצותי ומשפטי כיום הזה | ||
| 8 Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of IAUA, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of IAUA your God; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you for ever. | Ch UOThA LOINI KL-IShREL QAL-IAUA UBEZNI ELAINU ShMRU UDRShU KL-MTsUTh IAUA ELAIKM LMON ThIRShU ETh-AERTs ATUBA UANChLThM LBNIKM EChRIKM OD-OULM | ח ועתה לעיני כל-ישראל קהל-יהוה ובאזני אלהינו שמרו ודרשו כל-מצות יהוה אלהיכם למען תירשו את-הארץ הטובה והנחלתם לבניכם אחריכם עד-עולם | ||
| 9 You, Solomon my son, know you the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and with a willing mind; for IAUA searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts; if you seek Him, He will be found of you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off for ever. | T UEThA ShLMA-BNI DO ETh-ELAI EBIK UOBDAU BLB ShLM UBNFSh ChFTsA KI KL-LBBUTh DURSh IAUA UKL-ITsR MChShBUTh MBIN EM-ThDRShNU IMTsE LK UEM-ThOZBNU IZNIChK LOD | ט ואתה שלמה-בני דע את-אלהי אביך ועבדהו בלב שלם ובנפש חפצה כי כל-לבבות דורש יהוה וכל-יצר מחשבות מבין אם-תדרשנו ימצא לך ואם-תעזבנו יזניחך לעד | ||
| 10 Take heed now; for IAUA has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary; be strong, and do it.' | I REA OThA KI-IAUA BChR BK LBNUTh-BITh LMQDSh ChZQ UOShA | י ראה עתה כי-יהוה בחר בך לבנות-בית למקדש חזק ועשה | ||
| 11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch [of the temple], and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper rooms thereof, and of the inner chambers thereof, and of the place of the ark-cover; | IE UIThN DUID LShLMA BNU ETh-ThBNITh AEULM UETh-BThIU UGNZKIU UOLIThIU UChDRIU AFNIMIM UBITh AKFRTh | יא ויתן דויד לשלמה בנו את-תבנית האולם ואת-בתיו וגנזכיו ועליתיו וחדריו הפנימים ובית הכפרת | ||
